AI tokens are a way to measure how much you use AI. Tokens are used when you interact with AI in the Read, Write, and Discuss activities:

  • Read: AI helps by giving definitions for words. Looking up one word uses about 200 AI tokens.
  • Write: AI gives feedback on your writing. Checking one piece of writing uses about 2500 AI tokens.
  • Discuss: You have a conversation with AI about the lesson topic, and AI gives feedback. One conversation uses about 5000 AI tokens.

The numbers above are estimates. The actual number of tokens used can be more or less, depending on your level (beginner, intermediate, advanced) and the length of your responses. Advanced learners usually use more tokens.
