Using Eigo.AI in English

Practise activities in English and learn how to turn off browser translation if a warning appears.

Practise every activity in English

Try to complete all activities in English without resorting to machine translation. Read the lesson and questions in English, listen to the English audio, and give your own English answers in Speak, Write, and Discuss. Avoid translating whole passages, questions, or your answers with a browser translator, translation app, or AI tool.

If you get stuck, try these steps:

  • Reread the sentence or replay the audio and use the surrounding context.
  • Try to explain your idea with simpler English and words you already know.
  • Use Eigo.AI's built-in word definitions when your teacher allows them, then return to the activity in English.
  • Ask your teacher for help if you still do not understand.

You do not need perfect English. Making your own attempt gives you useful practice and lets your teacher see what you need help with. Follow your teacher's instructions about permitted language support.

Automatic translation detection and prevention

To help you practise English, Eigo.AI checks whether Google Translate is translating a Study page. If it detects page translation, a warning replaces the study area and asks you to turn translation off.

This happens automatically whenever you study. To continue, show the original English page and reload it using the steps below.

If you see the warning

  1. Use your browser's translation controls to show the original page or turn off translation for this site.
  2. If your browser is set to translate Eigo.AI automatically, turn that setting off too.
  3. Reload the Study page. Turning translation off alone does not restore the study area after the warning appears.
  4. If the warning continues, check any translation extensions and reopen the page with them disabled.

Built-in language support is separate

Your Feedback & Definitions Language setting controls vocabulary support and new Write/Discuss feedback, not the language of all exercises. Your teacher or institution may require English and lock that selector. This does not change the always-active automatic translation check.
